No new member may use the boats before receiving our induction training.
Any member proposing to use a boat must first enter their name/names into the booking file in the lodge.
A lifejacket must be worn and secured at all times and should be inspected to see if there is a gas canister installed together with the water sensitive cartridge.
The handle for the winch pulley is kept in the lodge and must be returned after the end of the fishing session.
The boat chain is locked with a padlock inserted between the links on both upper and lower chains. unlock it and wind the first boat towards you slowly until you can release the clip which secures the boat to the steel ring. Wind the buoy back out slowly until the orange tape and small padlock on the bottom chain appear. Attach the black-cased lock back on the chain together with the handle.
Walk the boat to the pontoon and secure it with the ropes at both end. Fix the engine and battery and check that they work before untying from the pontoon. It is advisable to take oars in the boat as a backup in case of engine failure. When ready to fish move away from the pontoon and fetch the next boat and attach it to the orange buoy on the chain using the metal clip into the steel ring for the next member.
Members must be seated when fishing for obvious reasons.
Trolling lines in the water while motor is in use is not permitted. Trapped lines is the major cause of damage to the motors.
Have a great day fishing.
On return please take the boat from the orange buoy and put it on one of the moorings using the metal clips.
Remove all belongings and rubbish from your boat. Return your boat to the orange buoy by winding it back. Wind the chain back out slowly until the orange tape and small padlock on the bottom chain appear. Attach the black-cased lock back on the chain above and below.
Please check all equipment for damage, particularly lifejackets and report this to the fisheries Officer or a committee member without delay. It is unacceptable to leave any suspect lifejackets without such immediate action.
If you are the last boat please return the pulley handle back to the hut.
